New Shop

I have been doing alot of baby crafting around here, and finding tons of really cute baby things to make. So while in my craft mood I decided to open up shop, and start a Meylah store.

I intend to have alot of really cute stuff for Newborns all the way up to a 5yr olds, I will be having hair accessories, jewelry, clothing, barefoot sandals, etc and maybe even some tutorials of things I make. Im doing my best to add new items daily or at least once a week depending on what it is.

On other news, we have been on spring break this past week, So we have done a lot of random things like we got Destinys pet Rudy, which has already escaped her first cage so we had to purchase a new one.

We also went to the Landscaping nursery, we got several plants which I have no idea where Im going to plant them or what Im going to plant them in. So I guess Im going to have to get really crafty and make me a planter out of some old  privacy fence, but i havent officially decided yet.

We also went to our local McDonalds playland with some of Destinys cousins and after 4yrs she finally got the courage to go up into the slide on the playland tree house, Which for her is a huge accomplishment, She has always wanted to go up in it, but has been to afraid to go...You can feel it shake a bit from all the kids running in it, and I think it made her feel like she was going to fall. But her 8yr old cousin Jake, held her hand and took her up and she played in the whole rest of the time we was there!!

And other than that We havent done much other than stay home crafting, playing in the yard, going to some auctions and My mom n I have went Ally Hopping...
Which for those of you who dont know what Ally Hopping is: Ally Hopping is where you pick a neighborhood and drive down the allys, you will be greatly surprised what you can find  and what people well throw out! Now let me clarify we do not dig or get anything out of dumpsters, just things sitting beside the dumpsters in the ally... I have found tons of great shape vintage furniture, kids yard toys, old vintage screen doors and the super cute old 3-6pane windows. We normally find a truck load of stuff to bring home and fix up to sell in our local antique/craft mall..

Crazy day!

***We got our pet Parakeet today***
We got us a little girl and Destiny named her:
RUDY the PARAKEET

Isn’t she a cutie???

But that isn’t where our day started to here is a run-down of our day:
This has been a super busy day....
1. My alarm didn’t go off, good thing my mom called to wake me up...
2. we went to yard sales, didn’t find much good stuff..
3. We took my dad to the eye doc to check his eye since he got metal flakes in it...
4 we went to our local lumber store and go free quarts of paint
5... we picked up RUDY put her in her cage and Destiny enjoyed talking to her...
FINALLY our last adventure for the day was RUDY getting out of her cage!!!
(Little smarty pants...... I can tell she is gonna fit in well with the rest of the family!)

And having to catch her and fix up her a new cage... good thing mom bought that extra one and fixed it up for us.....
Now,
I just wanna take a shower and eat a big bowl of cereal and hit the bed!!!

Baby Bottles...Which brand is best??

I'm in my last trimester so that means that it is time to start buying up all the essentials.
Today my quest is to find what bottle would be best to use, When Destiny was born we had the regular 'ol walmart $1 bottles, but I quickly found that that was not the best idea for a newborn, It caused her to be very gassy. So I set out to fix that problem and her doctor suggested we use Playtex Drop Ins

and they worked fabulously..... as she got older I did go back to the plain 'ol Cheapy ones from walmart and they worked great also..

I had originally planned for this baby to use the Playtex Drop ins also, but my local walmart (we aren't lucky enough to have a target or anything else for that matter) is seriously lacking in variety, they don't have the 4oz bottles anymore only the 8oz which if this baby is anything like Destiny was I wont need 8oz bottles for a while! Not to mention the price on the drop in refills have gone up in price and I'm not real happy about that.

So I have been looking at some other bottles that I might like, For instance I love the easy clean up of the
MAM BOTTLES
The bottoms, tops, and nipples all come apart, so I wouldn't have to worry about not being able to get the inside/bottom of the bottles clean + they come in cute pink and purple and they are available in 4oz and 8oz at my local store!

I also like the SOOTHIE Bottles:
They are said to reduce fussiness in baby's and be alot like breast feeding in that the baby controls the flow of milk.... plus my store has the entire kit from nipples, to pacifiers, to the bottle cleaner.... Which is always a good thing!

Well so far those are the only brands that I have found that I like-- Do you have any suggestions I should check out??

Destiny's getting a Parakeet!!!

Ok, So I have been comtemplating on getting Destiny a pet.
But I am not a dog, cat, bunny or anything furry that poops fan...lol.
So my mom suggested that I get her a bird, that she had one when she was a kid and she loved it, that they are low maintence and would be low in cost to feed/care for..
So I sat down and done a lot of research before making my decision, I still feel like their is a lot to learn, But I think I have all the knowledge to get started and can continue to learn as we go...

I have decided on a Parakeet, We will probaby get two, since we arent home much before school gets out around 3pm, and I wouldnt want my little birdie getting lonely....

I am in hopes of getting a blue and a green one-- so they are easier to tell apart and I hope to get a girl and a boy bird....

A friend of mine gave me a nice cage, which is going to require some sprucing up. I plan to buy a large bag of bird food and several toys to get us started and will hopefully pick up our new feathery friends tomorrow afternoon.

I plan to be posting all kinds of stuff about our cute little birdies, what names Destiny picks for her birds and just some random cute stuff as well as things that are very important that we learn as we go!

Getting ready for baby!!!

What I've been up to the past couple of days:

Well Wednesday Destiny came down with a stomach virus so I actually got to have a full day at home, that absolutley never happens so something good came out of my poor baby being sick!
In that day I finally got to work on the baby's bedding, which I finished- YAY ME and today I got the bed
all painted in a light turquouise/aqua color  and I love it.......

This is how it turned out
(forgive the bad photos)

look whats hiding under the bed....lol

The only thing is I have to finish the bed skirt, and Im not real happy with how the bumber pad sags a bit, so I will be working on that tomorrow.....

Im also working on the babies mobile so keep your eyes peeled for my next post with pictures of the bedding completely finished and the cute mobile!!

I will also be recovering a baby swing to match the bedding and I will be recovering a car seat and stroller to match each other, however I havent decided on the fabric I will be using for the car seat &stroller.
I do plan on sewing up a cute diaper bag in the same fabric I choose for the car seat &stroller.

Prego thoughts!

As you all know Im having a baby girl- due June 1st.
and believe it or not that is only 3 short months from now....
Time has seriously flown by, I feel like I just found out and it still hasnt really hit home that Im about to be a Mommy of 2 lil' girls, Destiny will be turning 5 June 24th so there is a 5yr gap between them, which makes it so surreal that Im not going to have just 1 lil girl, like it has been for the past five years.

I know this sounds crazy but it is  difficult for me to imagine another child being as great as Destiny.... That sound horrible when I say it, but I just feel like Destiny was the perfect child, she's the prettiest, the most well behaved, and loves all the things I love, and we do everything together..... She has been my world since I was prego with her.... and its really hard to imagine a child that can compare--- Dont most people think their child is perfect and they wouldn't change a thing?

That being said-- Im NOT in anyway saying I dont love this new baby, and wont love her just as much and will think she is just as  perfect .... Its just hard for me to imagine it.
I hope that Im not alone in feeling/thinking like this, but I cant help it, its there, I cant say " Hey, Brain quit thinking like that" and expect it to change.

My mother got her feathers all ruffled when I told her this, I guess she thought that I didnt love this baby or something..... I tried to explain, but she had her mind made up about what i was trying to say instead of actually listening to me.
Which I guess is why Im pushing my thoughts on you today, I just want to make sure Im not some crazy mom!

I really believe that I feel this way, because it really hasnt hit home that we are about to have another baby, It feels like something we talk about, but will never actually happen..... Like winning the lottery..lol.
And I have just now begun to start shopping and sewing baby stuff, I do feel more excited about it all when Im creating and shopping for her, seeing the babys new stuff in the house makes me feel like its really happening....

So Am I crazy? Should I be talking to someone about this? or is it perfectly normal?

I mean seriously how could I not think this Crazy Cutie is perfect??
